Trip to Kirtland and Cleveland

In late September, we took a little road trip to Ohio. Aftin's parents were doing a Mormon Church History Tour and were visiting Kirtland (just outside of Cleveland) for one of their stops. It is only a 3 hour drive to Cleveland so we went to see them and to visit the Kirtland and Cleveland sites. We were so happy to be able to see them after moving so far away from them (and far from any family at all!)

We looked in the visitors center and museum as well as did a tour of the inside.

The kids had a blast at the hotel. They talked about wanting to go to a hotel for weeks afterward.

A Christmas Story House

This movie was a Christmas tradition for Bill and his family growing up. It has now turned into our own family tradition to watch each year....well Bill and I have, we're giving it some time before the kids are ready to watch this movie with us. The house that they used to film all the outdoor scenes of the family's home was in Cleveland. The house was purchased a few years ago and remodeled inside to look like the movie.

Aliyah's 7th Birthday

Aliyah turned 7 in September. On her birthday we took the family out to dinner to Big Boy. (The kids get so excited about going there.)

A few weeks after her birthday we had a party for her at our local park. She invited her friends from church and from the neighborhood. Luckily it only rained for a small part of it. Aliyah had a great time running around the park with her friends.
