January 2015

Winter Fun - Snow ice cream, indoor swimming lessons, sledding on the snow mound in the cul-de-sac, manicures with Verra, and fun at home with siblings.

(Hot Lava)

Russell climbed out of the crib for the first time. We got his "big boy" bed out for him to sleep in. He wouldn't sleep in it, so we put him back in the crib. After a few days, it seemed he forgot that he could climb out and he stayed in his crib until the summertime.

Spencer stopped sucking his thumb. He went 30 days with no sucking, day or night, and he earned a Chuck E Cheese party with a friend--complete with pizza, tokens, games, tickets and prizes! (Sadly after a few months he reverted back and we're still working on it!)

Christmas Break  - Because of auto union contracts, Bill gets the week between Christmas and New Years Day off of work. With all of us home we headed to a children's museum in Flint. On the way home there was a really bad snow storm and the dirt road we took was iced over. We lost control going down a hill, the breaks wouldn't stop and we were speeding up. The kids had no idea but Bill and I were definitely worried. I knew we were going to crash, but I didn't think it would be too bad, there were dirt mounds and trees on both sides, not much traffic and we weren't going super fast, probably just auto body damage. The kids had no clue, and I turned around to tell them that everything will be ok, don't worry, we will all be fine, as Bill pulled the e-brake and we spun out. Miraculously, we spun out into a huge driveway and didn't hit a thing. Still I don't think the kids really had a clue what was going on. But now we were in the middle of a hill facing the uphill way. We tried to go up hill, spun out of control and spun back into the driveway just as another out of control car passed us, with an inch clearance of our car. We then tried to slowly go down the hill and barely made it to a side street where we were able to navigate out of onto a main road. God was watching out for us that day, it is a miracle that we didn't crash three different times.

Baby Bed Head

Bill got called to be a counselor in the bishopric. He wanted his dad to ordain him as a high priest. They were on their mission in Nauvoo, so Bill flew out there for a quick one night trip.

Date Night at the Mercury Bar in Corktown.
Delicious Faygo Orange Creamsicle milkshake.
